be Berlin Visits Warsaw from 25th to 27th of November
This year, Berlin and Warsaw are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their city partnership. To mark the occasion, the be Berlin campaign is putting on the "Berlin Days" in Warsaw from November 25-27, 2011. The event will be officially opened by Berlin’s Governing Mayor, Klaus Wowereit.
The capital city campaign will also be organizing a rather unusual event in the Polish capital: from November 25-27, 2011, a 6 x 5 meter model of Berlin’s famous Brandenburg Gate will be set up at one of the Polish capital’s central squares, i.e. Krakowskie Przedmieście Boulevard, at the corner of Romualda Traugutta
Additionally, people from all over the world are invited to send their message to Berlin and/or Warsaw as part of an initiative called “Berlin loves Warsaw. Warsaw loves Berlin. Your message to the partner city!” These short messages will then be projected on the illuminated model of the Brandenburg Gate.
At the same time, the be Berlin capital city campaign will invite Warsaw residents to enjoy delicious German specialties at a food-tasting stand that will be set up during the “Berlin Days in Warsaw.”
Starting on November 25, 2011, also as part of the city partnership, be Berlin will set up a “World of Lights" exhibition consisting of 100 lanterns that will create a reflective atmosphere at its location in Warsaw.
Parallel to that, Kulturprojekte Berlin will present a dance project and a unique fashion show in the Polish capital.
